Alaine Field, First of Her Name. I think.
10 seconds: Quasi-feral, middle child, rule-following rebel, great at lists, terrible at Lord of the Rings RISK, I made this portfolio.
Longer version: I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Montana, and grew under the Big Sky. I learned the proverbial and literal ropes on the family ranch, playing with imaginary friends and two amazing sisters. I later attended college at Montana State University in Bozeman, where I made corporeal friends and grew up just a skosh. I enjoyed getting my hands dirty in courses like printmaking and metal-smithing, while growing as a graphic designer. Years later and a few international trips thrown in (don’t worry, I won’t wax on about them), I graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design and an Honors Degree.
Starting with coloring books and sometimes my mother's unfortunate walls, I have always had a passion for art and expression. Starting in toddlerdom, nothing quite tickles my fancy like innovative problem solving through form and design. Favorite hobbies include reading books at least an inch thick, exploring the great outdoors, and eating a near unhealthy amount of cheese. Dislikes include writing my own bio and ending lists of three in a predictable way.
I’m looking forward to making beautiful things during my Seattle adventure, so please, take a look at my work and feel free to drop a line at alaine.field@gmail.com.
